A chat with Elielle de Rosbo, Marketing Manager, France

This week on Behind the Scenes, we’re chatting with our marketing manager for France, Elielle de Rosbo.

Elielle’s marketing talents have helped Florence develop messaging that resonates in France, helping us expand into a brand-new region.

Who are you, and what do you do at Florence?

My name’s Elielle, and I’m the marketing manager for France. I joined Florence a few months ago, and my main role is helping the company expand into Europe. France is the first international market for Florence, so it’s been a pretty exciting time to get involved.

There’s a lot at stake and a lot to discover. My role includes listening to and observing healthcare professionals and care providers to find out what they want so that we can create an effective marketing strategy.

Ultimately, my goal is to build a strong marketing plan so that Florence becomes France’s number one healthcare staffing provider.

What made you want to join Florence?

Many people want a job with meaning nowadays, and I’m definitely one of them. Ideally, I’d like to make an impact in a role that resonates with me – and I want to work for a company with a noble mission. That describes Florence perfectly.

You can make a big difference at a startup like Florence: you see the impact of everything you do, which is fulfilling. I only wish there were more hours in the day!

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

At first glance, we never see things as they really are – we see things as we are.

To create an effective marketing plan, you must dig deep to uncover the truth about what people really need, which might differ from what they say they need. You have to set your own filter and point of view aside, and try to see things from another perspective.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Florence?

I enjoy my job, so it’s hard to pick just one thing. Maybe the positive vibe?

The atmosphere is really good at Florence. People are genuinely happy to be here, and you can tell. They’re grateful to work for a company with a mission that makes sense, so we have a strong team.

What’s the biggest challenge Florence is facing at the moment? ‍

We’re growing very quickly, and there’s a lot at stake. I think the biggest challenge will be to nurture our company culture as we expand further into the French market. I want to keep that positive Florence spirit top of the agenda because I cherish it. It’s so important.

What’s a fun fact about you that might surprise us?

Oh, that’s a tough one! Not everyone knows this about me, but I’m a bit of a treasure hunter. I love finding interesting things at flea markets or antique stores and restoring them.

Not too long ago, I bought a fantastic 1930s radio, which I plan to convert into a Bluetooth speaker. There’s nothing like breathing new life into something forgotten.

What piece of advice would you give to someone thinking about joining Florence? ‍

We’re a startup, so everything is in motion – all the time. It’s busy around here!

One of the Florence values is “embrace the adventure”, and I’d encourage anyone new to do just that. Things will be different in six months, and they’ll change again a year from now. But if you learn to love the ride and go with the flow, you’ll have a lot of fun.

Where do you see Florence in five years?

Florence is a caring company, and we’ll still care about our care organisations and professionals in five years. So, that won’t change.

But we’ll be in more countries, filling a much greater number of health and social care shifts. I think Florence will fly, actually, and I can’t wait to see it happen.
