Florence sponsors Care Sector’s Got Talent 2023

Care Sector’s Got Talent is officially the highlight of our calendar every year. Having started as a Zoom call during the pandemic, the event now happens annually in person, which is exciting.

This year, care professionals from all over the country travelled to the Derby Arena on 20 April for a bigger, better experience than ever. As a Championing Social Care founding partner, we sponsored the event for the second year running, to support the amazing people who make the care sector great. Yay!

Talent in care

There’s no doubt that people who work in care are talented. And we mean really talented. Not only do they help vulnerable people in our communities live life to the fullest every day, but they also steal the spotlight on stage.

We were fortunate enough to sit in the audience this year, and it was great to see such a variety of talent across our sector, from Craig Smith’s Elvis impression to the dancing of Dost, Mahesh, Dhiya & Angeca. The live audience loved it!

Majesticare chief executive, Angela Boxall and her very own Ant and Dec, Adam Parnell and Mark Topps of The Caring View podcast made fantastic hosts. And we can’t forget a special mention to Dan Blake, Florence’s COO, who interviewed the audience throughout to find out what everyone thought about each act.

Care Sector’s Got Talent 2023 ended up being a highly contested competition, but in the end, senior care assistant Charlene Reeves and wellbeing coordinator Michael Gallagher of Hill View Care Home in Glasgow – AKA Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper – took the crown. They blew us all away with their rendition of Shallow. One of the judges, Anchor managing director for care services Rob Martin, was almost brought to tears by their performance.

Until next year

It's always so much fun bringing everyone together to shine a light on the care sector. Thank you Championing Social Care: we can’t wait for Care Sector’s Got Talent 2024!
