Meet Florence Star Award winner Gresham [Jan ‘24]

This January we're celebrating Star Award winner Gresham, a care assistant who was nominated by one of our fantastic care organisations in Northern Ireland. They love working with him due to his dedication and positive attitude.

We sat down to chat about Gresham’s career journey and why they use Florence to book shifts….

1. How long have you been in healthcare?

I’ve worked in healthcare for almost two years now. I was previously a Credit Controller for a chemicals company in Zimbabwe.

2. Why do you love being a Care Assistant?

I have a passion for caring. I also love that being a Care Assistant is very sociable and a way to learn new things and challenge myself.

3. What do you like most about working with Florence?

I love working with Florence. The customer service teams are always very helpful. They listen and sort out any concerns efficiently. They are a very reliable and supportive team.

4. What features do you find useful in the Florence app?

It’s a very informative app; for example, it gives distance to location and directions if needed. Really helpful. The app also displays the rate clearly on shift - there’s nothing hidden.

5. What advice would you give care professionals considering joining Florence?

Be patient when joining, as it can take some time to onboard, but know it will be worth it in the end. Be eager to learn new things as you join and have a positive mindset.

6. What's the one thing you wish everyone understood about workingin care?

It is a very rewarding job, and working with Florence is very flexible, so you can fit work around the rest of your life.
