Next up in our Behind the Scenes series, we’re meeting our senior marketing manager Tamana. Tamana moved to Florence because she believes in our mission - here’s more about what she gets up to day-to-day…
1. Who are you and what do you do at Florence?
I’m Tamana and I work in the marketing team. My job is to make sure that care homes know that their problems can be solved. I reach out to them over the right channel and with the right message and let them know that we’re here to help with their pain points.
2. What made you want to join Florence?
I believe in the mission.
I love what we’re doing in the care home sector, which is making sure managers are focussing on giving residents the care they deserve rather than the paperwork and all of that stuff.
I find that beautiful.
3. What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
“It’s better to ask the right question rather than knowing the right answer” has helped me a lot.
I ask loads of questions, it’s made a difference in terms of how I work in teams and my relationships, which is great.
4. What’s your favourite thing about working at Florence?
Definitely the people.
It’s very rare to be in a company and work in a team where everyone really cares, not only about what they're doing but also about each other.
Everyone is approachable and down to support each other because we all believe in the cause so much.
5. What’s a fun fact about you that might surprise us?
I’ve lived in four countries - the Czech Republic, India, America and here (UK), I also speak six languages.
6. What piece of advice would you give to someone thinking about joining Florence?
Make sure if you apply, you really care about the healthcare sector and making a difference - because if you don’t you’ll think everyone is really weird because everyone is so passionate about what they do here!
7. Where do you see Florence in five years?
I see Florence in every care home, at least in the UK, and I see us going international.
We’re making sure that as we scale, we’re not compromising the quality of the service we’re providing so as soon as we know there’s more growth and more opportunity in different areas we’re also recruiting to make sure we’re sustaining that quality.
I think because of that, I see us going international and being the ‘go to’ platform. There are other companies doing what we do but they’re not doing it how we do it.
If you want to make a difference in the healthcare sector come and join us. Check out our open roles here.
