What you will learn

You will learn how to work safely and effectively in a care environment. You will improve your skills, knowledge, and behaviour across diverse key topics such as providing basic life support, safeguarding adults, and protecting information. The courses cover standard principles and best-practices for working in the care sector as well as relevant policies, procedures, and laws you will need to be aware of. Although theory-based, the courses are loaded with practical tips, scenarios and reflective activities which you can apply in your role.

About this collection

Gain the knowledge and skills you need to start working in the care sector with the Florence Academy Care Essentials collection. You’ll learn how to provide high-quality care over ten theory courses, which cover the fundamentals of working in the care sector. At the end, you’ll earn a certificate for each course, which you can use to prove your learning to employers.

You must complete learning on these topics to work in the care sector. The topics included meet the relevant learning outcomes of Skills for Care and Skills for Health. On completion of the ten courses, you will have completed a significant part of your theory mandatory compliance training. You will still need to complete other learning and demonstrate competency relevant to your location to be deemed fully compliant.
